WOMEN AND MINORITY BUSINESS OWNERS
Banyan Legal Counsel understands the unique challenges
that women and minority business owners face
Business owners encounter many hurdles, but we know that not every business has an equal chance to succeed. Women and minority business owners are particularly likely to face persistent challenges such as negative stereotypes, language, cultural, and systemic barriers, and limited access to critical resources such as capital, business networks, and opportunities to hone important business skills.
Founded in 2015, Banyan Legal Counsel is a Washington state-certified Minority/Women Business Enterprise (MWBE) that works to level the playing field and help other women- and minority-owned businesses achieve their goals.
We meet you where you are with no judgment
Owning a business can be overwhelming and there's no shame in not knowing it all or having everything perfectly together all the time. Whether you're facing an upset employee with a potential lawsuit, an audit by the Department of Labor and Industries, or a dispute with a business partner, you won't receive any judgment from us. We will explain the situation to you in words that you understand, help you evaluate your options, and work with you to resolve the issue at hand.
We get you and how you define success
Hiring a legal team that understands you and your business means being on the same page right from the start. You won't have to explain to us the value of diversity, integrity, or sustainability. We know you want your business to have a solid foundation so you can focus on what motivated you to become a business owner in the first place, whether it was to break down barriers, create a legacy for your family, or give back to the community. We partner with you to create the business of your dreams.
We have the tenacity to help you meet your goals
We know what it's like to be a woman of color in a male-dominated industry. We are purposeful, creative problem solvers with the determination to help you push through your toughest challenges. Whether it's advocating for you with a lender who is not used to working with women or minority business owners, introducing you to the right contacts to help you grow your professional network, or negotiating with a difficult adversary, we will be right by your side.
We help you monitor the legal health of your business
Legal compliance is not just about making sure you have the right documents in place when you start your business. It's also about monitoring the health of your business on an ongoing basis. We go the extra mile to help our clients understand their contracts and policies, build successful relationships, and keep up with changes in the law so they can focus on the success of their own products and customers.
We know you're busy
Whether you're a CEO with a side hustle, a single mom with three kids, or a business owner who lives in the U.K., we know you might not have time to talk to us between 9 am and 5 pm. We understand that business owners have busy lives and we do our best to make working with us as easy as possible. We can schedule a video call at 9 pm, send you an agreement to review and sign from your phone, or share files with you while you're on a family vacation in Thailand.
